Amy Poehler Wants to Do a ‘Parks & Recreation’ Reboot: ‘I’m Down’

With comedies like That ‘70s Show and Party Down getting modern-day reboots, it seems only fair Parks and Recreations fans want the same. As far as Amy Poehler is concerned, she doesn’t need much convincing when it comes to signing on for a revival.

The 50-year-old actress recently attended the season two premiere of the Netflix series, Russian Doll. Poehler exclusively told People that she’s always “down” to reunite with her former castmates and make a reboot series.

“Anytime anybody gives me the word, and I'm down,” she said.

Earlier this year, the Baby Mama alum revealed to the publication that she binge-watched all seven seasons of Parks and Rec with her children in quarantine.

“We turned to comedy for comfort, and we watched all of Parks and Rec, which they had never seen,” she said at the time. “And they loved The Office. Oh, God, we watched everything. I feel like most people watched all of the TV, all of the shows.”

Poehler portrayed Leslie Knope for all seven seasons of the NBC sitcom. Back in 2020, the cast came together for a special reunion episode that aired on the network. Other stars included Chris Pratt (Andy), Aubrey Plaza (April), Aziz Ansari (Tom), Nick Offerman (Ron), Rashida Jones (Ann), Retta (Donna) and Adam Scott (Ben).

Shortly after the reunion special, Michael Schur (the show’s creator) shared that he is open to a revival. “Well, I guess I’ll say what I said last time, which was: I’ll never say never,” he said, according to Digital Spy. “Again, I really didn’t think [the virtual special] was ever going to happen. But also suddenly it became a fun and neat thing to do.”
