We’ve been major fans of Ali Wong ever since she appeared on the sitcom American Housewife, which ran for five seasons. And since then, the comedian and actress has been making major strides in Hollywood, from her successful rom-com, Always Be My Maybe, to her Netflix stand-up specials Baby Cobra, Hard Knock Wife and Don Wong. TIME also named her one of the 100 Most Influential People of the Year in 2023.

To say the year was momentous (or that she nicely padded her net worth) is an understatement. In addition to her TIME accolade, the star has made major headlines with her dramedy series, Beef, which premiered in April. It's snagged three 2024 Golden Globe nominations, including Best Limited Television Series and a Best Actress nod for Wong. Per an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she also kicked off a tour in June that continues into 2024. (She dubbed it the "Single Lady Tour.")

Wong certainly shows no signs of slowing down. "Stand-up is a mature person’s game. So I will welcome every single year I have lovingly and tenderly and with so much graciousness and humor because as I grow, so will my stand-up," she says in the interview. "Whatever happens, I’m in my first trimester of life right now.”

So, how do these projects affect Ali Wong’s net worth, which is reported to be around $4 million? Keep reading for details.

1. What Is Ali Wong’s Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the actress, comedian and writer is worth an estimated $4 million. As expected, her income stems from her successful stand-up comedy and acting career. Her acting credits include Are You There, Chlesea (2012), Black Box (2014), American Housewife (2016-2021), Paper Girls (2022) and Love, Victor (2020), in addition to projects like Always Be My Maybe (2019) and Beef (2023). She also goes on tour, telling The Hollywood Reporter that she does a set every night. According to some estimates, she will pull in, on average, $35,000 per set, assuming a mid-sized theater is 200 seats and an average ticket is $176, per Vivid.

2. How Much Did Wong Make from Her Netflix Specials?

Wong released three comedy specials on the streaming service: Baby Cobra, Hard Knock Wife and Don Wong. We don’t know what she earned for the first two specials, but we do know that they were successful—so much so that in 2019 it led to an intense bidding war between Netflix and HBO for two additional specials, one of which was Don Wong. HBO reportedly offered the star more than $10 million for a single special. Wong ultimately decided to stick with Netflix, and they settled on an eight-figure deal.

3. How Much Did She Make from Her On-Screen Roles?

Wong boasts an impressive list of acting credits that date back to 2011, when she appeared in Fox's sitcom, Breaking In. Since then, she has worked on several shows, including Are You There, Chelsea?, Black Box, Inside Amy Schumer, American Housewife and Love, Victor. The actress has also done movies like Onward, Birds of Prey and Always Be My Maybe.

Her salary for these projects hasn’t been confirmed, but she served as an actor, writer and producer for Always Be My Maybe, which turned out to be a huge success. (According to Netflix, it was viewed by 32 million households within the first four weeks.) Meanwhile, Birds of Prey made a whopping $205.3 million at the box-office, so we imagine that Wong’s paychecks had plenty of zeroes.

4. What About Her Netflix Show, Beef?

Once again, Wong’s earnings have been kept under wraps. Given that a SAG-AFTRA contract guarantees a lead actor a minimum of $32,000 per TV episode and that Wong would be paid well above this (given her long history with Netflix), it’s safe to say that the actress is making at least six figures from the series.

In case you’re not familiar, the dark comedy follows two strangers who develop an intense feud after getting into a road rage incident—hence the show’s name.

5. She Also Published a Book 'Dear Girls' in 2019

In 2019, Wong released Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets & Advice for Living Your Best Life through Penguin Random House. It was named one of the year's best books by Variety, Chicago Tribune and Glamour. The book was also a New York Times bestseller. According to one study, a best-seller typically moves 10,000 to 100,000 copies in its first year. At its current price of $20, we can estimate Wong made a minimum of $200,000 in 2019 alone. assuming she earned out of her advance.

6. Don't Forget Her Voice Acting Credits

In addition to her on-screen roles, Wong has lent her voice to numerous animated projects, such as Tuca and Bertie, The Angry Birds Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie. The Angry Birds Movie was a box-office hit, earning $352 million on a $73 million budget.
