365 Days: This Day, which is the second installment in the series, picks up right where the first film left off. Only, we’re not in Don Massimo’s luxurious mansion or on his extravagant yacht. This time, we see him standing in a wedding chapel, ready to tie the knot with his girlfriend, Laura.
In the first movie, the notorious mafia boss kidnaps Laura and holds her captive in his mansion. He gives her 365 days to fall in love with him and if she doesn’t, he sets her free. But (spoiler alert) that doesn't happen. Instead, she falls in love with him in the end.
So now, they’re officially husband and wife. But Don is no longer in charge in the bedroom, according to Laura. “I don’t want to hurt you,” she says.
Meanwhile, Don’s dangerous past starts to threaten their relationship. In one scene, it appears Don’s bodyguards are watching Laura’s every move. Even though Don says it’s for her own protection, Laura thinks otherwise. “This is not protection,” she tells him.
Not only that, there seems to be a new man trying to win over Laura’s heart. Will their relationship survive? Or will Laura find love elsewhere?
The ensemble cast includes Anna-Maria Sieklucka (Laura), Michele Morrone (Don), Simone Susinna (Nacho), Magdalena Lamparska (Olga) and Otar Saralidze (Domenico).
Following the success of the first film, Netflix confirmed that a third movie is coming to the streaming service. So, Don and Laura might not be calling it quits anytime soon.
