The Pros Have Spoken: This is the *One* Nail Color You Should Wear This Summer

When you think of summer nail colors what comes to mind? I think of bright reds and pinks—maybe a crisp white to switch things up. Alas, the shade of this particular summer, as proclaimed by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik is...drumroll, please...butter yellow! Bachik painted the sunny hue on Selena Gomez's fingertips earlier this spring, which is when I first took note of the burgeoning trend.

Since then, I've also noticed the cheery hue on Rosé from BLACKPINK, who wore a softer, almost sheer version of the buttery shade on her tips.

More recently, J.Lo showed off a butter yellow mani that perfectly complemented the floral motifs on her dress, further cementing the trend.

Though the shade can be incredibly flattering on, there is one thing to note about it: The application can be tricky, as pastel polishes tend to streak easily. To ensure the smoothest finish possible, paint in thin coats, allowing a few minutes of dry time between layers. I'd also suggest going for three coats here, as opposed to the usual two that's recommended for most polishes, so you get the full opacity of the shade.
