We can all agree: Free things are great. So, when I saw that UBeauty was offering three-day samples of their one and only item, the Resurfacing Compound, I immediately signed up. The UBeauty website promised I’d see smoother and brighter skin over that short period of time. *Cue my skepticism* But regardless, I was game to give it a try, especially when I saw that this multitasking face product was regularly selling out on Net-A-Porter.
After getting my little envelope of serum, I religiously applied it morning and night for three days. And would you believe it, I noticed some redness around my nose disappearing and...could it be? My skin actually felt smoother to the touch and was just a bit brighter than before. It almost looked like my skin was airbrushed—even without a drop of BB cream or concealer. To do that, the Resurfacing Compound combines retinol, vitamin C, antioxidants and a light exfoliation, all in one chic bottle.
So yeah, I was pretty overjoyed with my free trial and decided it was time to place an order for a full-size bottle. I also adjusted my medicine cabinet for its arrival. Seriously, I threw out my toner, vitamin C serum, antioxidant serum and my hyaluronic acid—all of which can already be found in this one product. My new morning skincare routine included only an essence, the UBeauty Resurfacing Compound, a moisturizer and an SPF. Actual minutes have been added back into my life...and I get to spend less time staring at my face in the mirror each morning.
Influencer Tina Craig (of BagSnob fame) founded Ubeauty, working with Italian scientists to create the compound's proprietary formula. Together, they figured out that the patent-pending SIREN Capsule Technology specifically targets free radicals, the ones that cause skin damage like dark marks or wrinkles. In that way, it treats your existing skin damage while preventing all sorts of future damage.
Now, two months into use, my skin looks better than ever. One thing to note is that I do use prescription retinol in the evening. When I first started using the Resurfacing Compound, I took a break from my evening retinol for just one week but was able to reintroduce it back in, with zero irritation or issues.

Admittedly, $228 is a bit steep for skincare but when you consider all the money I’m saving on those additional serums and products, it’s actually a pretty good investment.
