You know a beauty brand must be good when its celebrity founder uses the products themselves. That's exactly the case with Rihanna Fenty's wildly popular self-titled Fenty Beauty line. Just last week, Riri posted to her personal Instagram showing her following of 150 million users how she gets her perfect red lip for the holidays. Step aside red-lipped Rockettes. We've got a new hue in town and it's Fenty's "The MVP."

To start, Rihanna uses the Fenty Beauty Trace’d Out Pencil Lip Liner in “The MVP" ($20) to trace the outline of her lips. She, like many of us has a double lip line, so she follows the natural shape of her lip, but over lines it just a bit to even out the gaps and provide a fuller finish. It also adds a slight shadow around the edges of the lips to create dimension and the illusion of depth. The Trace’d Out Pencil Lip Liner is a long-wear, creamy pencil with a velvet-matte finish crafted with pure pigments. It goes on smooth and sets similarly to a liquid to avoid smudging, but with enough time to blend. The blue-toned red is formulated to work on every complexion and won't leave anyone looking washed out.

Next, she uses Fenty's Beauty Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick also in the shade “The MVP” ($29) which she layers on top of the liner and the rest of her exposed lip. The whipped and creamy, non-dehydrating formula glides onto lips without sucking them of moisture while also providing full coverage in a single swipe. The doe foot applicator helps to provide precision during the application process and leaves Rihanna looking bold and pouty, her lips drying down to a velvet-matte finish. And with just two products to create the ultimate festive lip, you might just give the show-stopping tree-topper a run for its money.
