When we hear one of our favorite skincare brands is releasing a new product, we're practically giddy—and our holy grail, Peace Out, just launched an Instant Pore Perfector that the company claims has tons of benefits (both immediate and long term).

What Is the Peace Out Instant Pore Perfector?

The Peace Out Instant Pore Perfector is a serum-like product that's meant to be applied to the skin before makeup but after skincare for calming and smoothing effects. The product is designed to act as an immediate primer, blurring pores, helping to extend makeup wear and reducing redness.

The formula is also meant to offer some long-term results, though. It has hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, mushroom extract and malic acid, all of which aim to reduce inflammation, redness, even complexion, brighten and hydrate the skin.

How We Tested

PureWow's Beauty Director Jenny Jin has been testing the product for more than two weeks. Since the Instant Pore Perfector is meant to be used as the final step of skincare before applying makeup because of its calming and blurring effects, Jin followed the instructions, using it once a day on days she wore makeup. "The instructions say to 'gently press product into dry skin focusing on areas with enlarged pores,' so I let my sunscreen dry down for a few minutes before applying the Pore Perfector over my T-zone," she says.

The Results

When it came to blurred pores, Jin found that she saw more of a smoothing finish rather than blurring—namely because she doesn't have large pores to begin with. "I noticed this most on my forehead, which tends to get shiny, [causing] foundation there to fade quickly," she shares.

She found that it did help to elongate her makeup wear. "I’ve been wearing this before sweaty dance classes a few times a week and have noticed that my makeup stays more intact whenever I do," she says.

As for the long-term effects, it was a bit too soon to say whether the product offered much help. "I can’t really speak to the purported brightening effects just yet, but I can say that it’s a solid primer that hasn’t broken me out (and I’m definitely acne-prone)," Jin shares.

All in all, she would buy the product again for its priming effects alone. "It did help extend my makeup wear time and didn’t cause any breakouts, which is very important for me, since I tend to break out easily," she says.

We love adding a product to our routine that can do a few things at once, and the skincare-makeup aspect of this one has us hooked.
