Liquid blush is all the rage as of late because it offers a dewy (yet pigmented) finish that can’t be replicated with powder. The question is: Is the NARS Afterglow Liquid Blush ($32) worth the price tag?

On the latest episode of Take My Money, Kate Kesselman put the best-selling liquid blush to the ultimate test and gave an honest review of the packaging, wearability and overall product.

“Today, we are going to see what’s the hype with the NARS Afterglow Liquid Blush,” Kate said in the episode (see above). “This is supposed to apply really evenly, streak-free. We want to see if it’s really worth $32.”

Kate began by sharing her first impression: “I love the packaging. The cap kind of has a mirror essence, so you can check your blush application after you apply it in the packaging itself, which is kind of cool. And I love how big the brush is.”

She also noted that blush application varies for each person, so don’t come at her. “I’ve been scouring the internet, and I learned that according to different face shapes, you should apply blush differently,” she said. “I have a round/heart face shape, so I’m going to apply my blush high up here on my cheek.”

Kate used the Brazen (coral pink) shade, but there are five other options to choose from: Behave (mauve pink), Dolce Vita (dusty rose), Insatiable (deep plum), orgasm (peachy pink with golden shimmer) and Wanderlust (soft lilac).
