We attribute the pads' power to active acid ingredients, namely 10 percent glycolic acid complex and two percent salicylic acid. According to the brand (and various studies), the glycolic exfoliates skin, which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, while the salicylic may help to clear acne and prevent future breakouts. Like Robbie, online reviewers—90 percent of whom say they would recommend this to a friend—swear by the pads. Along with acids, these pads also contain soothing botanicals such as aloe vera and extracts of chamomile and green tea.

We're prepared for this powerful acid to do its resurfacing work, but being cautious with our first applications, since it's such an active formula. As one reviewer wrote: "These do make my skin tingle during application in an 'I'm getting irritated' way, but I let it dry and it quickly passes. I probably would not recommend these for someone with sensitive or dry skin, but since I don't have either, I can't say for sure."
