3 Ways to Upgrade a Lob If You Have Thin Hair

One of the many reasons why the lob (that is, long bob) has become such a popular cut in recent years is because of its sheer versatility. It's one of those glorious styles that truly works on everyone—no matter their hair type or texture.

And if your hair tends to fall on the finer side, there are three key things you can do to make sure you get the most volume from your cut.

1. Cut it at an angle. This shoulder-grazing style is slightly shorter in the back than in the front, adding tons of body and shape to create the illusion of fuller hair.

2. Add some dimension. A blend of highlights and lowlights will add depth and contrast (which will make your strands pop as opposed to falling flat).

3. Add some bend. A few loose waves from mid-lengths to ends will give you even more oomph. Finish with a misting of dry texture spray and tousle to your heart's content.
