I’m a longtime devotee of Glamsquad. I’ve used them for my wedding, last-minute media appearances, the occasional work event and even before brunch with friends. The time-saving power of not having to trek to a salon to get your hair done (they offer blowouts, updos and more) is real. Add to that my recent discovery that they also offer at-home manicures and pedicures (gel included) and my beauty maintenance has forever changed. Here’s my honest review.

First, A Bit About Glamsquad
Launched in 2014, Glamsquad is an on-demand beauty service that brings trained hair and makeup professionals directly to your door. The stylists are top caliber and the services—which are currently offered in New York, Boston, Southern California, South Florida, Washington D.C., Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and San Francisco—are largely affordable.
For reference, a blowout starts at $60 and an updo costs $95. Everyday makeup services start at $65 and a manicure with regular polish will cost you just $45. Yes, it’s ever-so-slightly higher than the cost of a styling service or manicure at a salon, but—and it’s a big but—how much do you value the time you’ll save? In my case, a lot, which is why I’ve been using Glamsquad for years.
4 Reasons I Love Using Glamsquad
1. Booking an appointment is relatively easy. You can book any (and all) services using their extremely user-friendly app. Once you schedule your appointment, the stylist comes straight to your door—tools and product in tow. For hair, their only request is that you wash your hair right before they arrive so they can get right to styling. Other than that, you really just need an outlet nearby.
2. I’ve never felt rushed or that my needs weren’t met. The stylists and makeup artists often have a packed schedule. They’re also uber efficient, yet somehow have never made me feel rushed. We’ve swiped through pics of celebs, pics of me when I liked my hair and worked together to always get the look I want. Yes, you can request a specific stylist as you get to know them, but I’ve been good with the luck of the draw and happy with the results each time.
3. They offer superb manicures. Manicures used to be a luxury for me, but the time it takes! It can be a challenge to squeeze in an appointment. I feel so restless. Not the case when someone comes to your door. The entire thing took about 30 minutes and was the most professional and perfect polish job I’ve gotten in a while. (The nail tech even carried a battery-operated nail lamp.)
4. I’m a broken record here, but you really can’t put a price on time. It’s the main reason to book Glamsquad—they come to you. No paying for parking, no subway delays, no commuting to your appointment. To me, that benefit is worth its weight in gold.
The fact that the results are salon-worthy? Icing on the cake.
