When we think of fall, we think of pumpkins, witches, hayrides, the crisp crunch of fall leaves, a chill in the air. And, of course, picking apples. Now, for those like us who are fans of all things apple—including the Big Apple itself—may we introduce you to Apple Love ($110). A PureWow fav, Ellis Brooklyn’s newest scent is an ode to the greatest apple of them all: New York City, baby.

Founder, Bee Shapiro, crafted the scent to recount her time in NYC thus far. “New York has been a magical place for me, a place where I felt like I could finally be the true me. It’s a city that has its very highs and very lows, and in-between all the madness, there is a genius that is enchanting and forever memorable. Apple Love is my fragrance ode to the sweet sophistication and glamour of the city.”

The scent is an eau de parfum meaning that it has a higher fragrance concentration and will linger on the skin for longer. Apple Love, as its name suggests, is an apple forward scent. It’s fruity, floral and sweet without being over the top. We've been wearing the scent nearly every day and it reminds us of a fall stroll through Manhattan. At its base, the notes of vanilla and praline evoke a moment in Little Italy with its bustling pastry shops, and the top notes of apple, mandarin and peach take us right to Chinatown with its produce sellers and boba tea shops with lines out the door for their sweet and fruity beverages.

When asked about the additional notes for the fragrance, Shapiro explained,“I wanted to lead with the apple notes to reference the Big Apple, but then the scent is meant to convey smooth, addictive, heady sophistication. The scent is a head turner. It's addictive—in the way the city energy is. So it’s not so much the note-by-note inspiration that underlines NYC, but rather the total composition of Apple Love.”

Notes

  • Top: Red Apple, Mandarin Sfuma, Peach Skin
  • Mid: Plum Blossom, Osmanthus, Muguet, Sugar Cane
  • Base: Sandalwood, Vanilla Madagascar, Praline, Ambrox, Musks

In addition to being an unforgettable scent, Apple Love is also a fragrance made with sustainability in mind. Its Praline note was created using 100% renewable carbon. The perfume uses seven upcycled ingredients and 20.4% of the ingredients of Apple Love are renewable.

If you’d like to try this fruity delight for yourself, it’s currently available at Sephora.
