With hot girl summer kicking off, I must admit I've been complementing finally taking the plunge to get eyelash extensions. It seems like everywhere I look and turn, someone is raving about how "glam-ified" they make you feel, even when your hair is in a messy bun and you're sitting on the sofa in sweats. As someone who fully plans on being as extra as possible this season, I was two seconds away from booking an overpriced appointment when I came across the Augustinus Bader eyebrow and lash-enhancing serum ($150). And let me just say I'm still thanking the beauty gods because, for one, I'm actually allergic to latex glue, so the lash extensions would have most likely been a total disaster, and two, my eyelashes have gone from drab to quite fab in just a month.

So why the product hasn't totally blown up on social media yet, I'll never know—perhaps everyone is keeping it hush-hush? Whatever the reason, I'm too excited to gatekeep it because the results are impressive. At least this TikToker is on the same page as me.

OK, so What Exactly Is the Augustinus Bader Eyebrow and Lash Enhancing Serum?

The 2-in-1 product is meant to boost lash and brow growth and volume, so you can skip the falsies, thanks to roselle and safflower extracts. But other ingredients, including biotin, red winter algae, hyaluronic acid and castor oil, make it a powerhouse when it comes to hair health, helping to strengthen follicles and prevent hair loss.

Oh, and this is all powered by the brand's Trigger Factor Complex, of course, which is essentially a blend of natural amino acids, high-grade vitamins and peptides. FYI: It's also used in the brand's cult-favorite products like the Rich Cream (from $92). It takes the lightweight serum up a notch and leaves a long-lasting effect so your brows and lashes can stay on fleek. There are steps you must take to get them there in as little as four weeks, however, which I'm happy to report.

My Experience Using the Eyebrow and Lash Enhancing Serum

For total transparency, I've only ever used one other lash and brow serum (the $48 Kosas GrowPotion). And while I can't speak to the results at this time, I can say right off the bat that my eyes were *a lot* less sensitive to AB's clean formula. Here's how it went: As advised, I went in with the thin and wide side of the soft, flexible applicator (that is supposedly designed to load and dispense an ideal and even amount of product) along my brows and lash line twice a day (morning and night) for an entire month. Just so you know, the serum dries almost instantly and is invisible, doubling as a primer, so I could still wear my eyeliner as usual.

The application added about two minutes to my normal skincare and makeup routine, but this was no big deal to me because, within two weeks, I noticed a thickness to my lashes that wasn't there before. As for my brows, which are already pretty thick, they were growing faster from my last wax. So err on the side of caution: If you have thick brows, stick to using it on your lashes unless you like getting them waxed every week. I don't.

By week four, my lashes were even fuller, slightly more curled and almost twice as long as before I used the product. I also didn't experience any noticeable shedding, color change, dryness, tingling or stiffness throughout the month; my brows and lashes felt totally normal but looked waaaay better. Several friends I hang out with regularly also commented on how good they looked and mistook them for faux individual lashes.

The Bottom Line

Now I'm wondering why I ever considered booking an expensive eyelash appointment because these results should last for months with consistent usage. Trust me, once you get your hands on this serum, you might never look at falsies again.
