Alicia Silverstone has come a long way since her Clueless days. A longtime vegan and natural product advocate, the 43-year-old author of The Kind Diet lives by the mantra that plant-based foods and thoughtfully produced products can truly make you glow from within. As she told PureWow during an interview about her partnership with Crystal Deodorant, “Following nutrition, any beauty and self-care products I consume are in alignment with the way I eat—vegan with wholesome ingredients, cruelty-free, ideally certified organic and bottled in earth-friendly packaging!” As conscious consumers ourselves, we were curious to know what Silverstone reaches for on the reg. Here, her five favorite tried and true products.

1. Crystal Deodorant
As far as deodorant goes, Silverstone has gone the natural route with Crystal for more than two decades. The American Woman star explained, “It’s safe, vegan and, most important, effective! It’s mineral-based, made from nontoxic and cruelty-free ingredients, and free of freaky ingredients found in so many deodorants, like aluminum, parabens, silicones, phthalates, artificial fragrances and colors.” Although she used to prefer the mineral stone option, she’s now all about their roll-on.
2. Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Shampoo
Similar to her choice of deodorant, Silverstone has been a fan of Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Shampoo for 20 years. It’s moisturizing, it increases strength and vitality, and it locks in shine. Oh, it also smells like aloe vera and rosemary, plus it’s vegan-friendly, never tested on animals and free of parabens and sulfates.
4. Mykind Organics Plant Collagen Builder
Silverstone says her beauty regimen really begins on the inside. When she’s eating well, her skin glows. But she says there are times “when I’m traveling or haven’t been eating exactly how I’d like” that really affect her skin. So she supports her nutrition with this vegan, certified organic, non-GMO, whole foods plant collagen builder from MyKind (which she cofounded). She calls the product “really awesome for keeping your skin looking young and supple.”
5. Garden Apothecary Higher Ground Facial Serum
Last but not least is the Garden Apothecary Higher Ground serum, which she says smells “like coffee mixed with chocolate.” (Um, yum.) The serum is made with hydrating botanicals formulated by a botanist and packed with antioxidants, replenishing peptides, phytonutrients and hydration. Plus, you can actually pronounce everything it’s made with, which we love.
