It’s official, people: Finally, fall is here. Just as pumpkin spice lattes and cashmere sweaters go hand in hand with the season, so does cozy bedding. If you’ve decided to give your bedroom a fall refresh, you’re probably scouring the internet for the best sheets, comforters or blankets you can find. And, we’re guessing you’re here because you’ve repeatedly seen—or scrolled—the Brooklinen brand, and you’re wondering whether their ethereal Insta-bedrooms live up to the hype.

Well, you can stop sifting through the thousands of Brooklinen reviews online, because we’ve tested out their best-selling bedding firsthand. Below, find everything you need to know about the brand, along with a comprehensive analysis of a few best-selling bedding products, ranging from down comforters to sheet sets.

PRICE

Bedsheets range from $99 for a three-piece percale set to $505 for a seven-piece heathered cashmere set for California king beds. Its best-selling sateen sheet set costs $149 for a queen. Their down comforter starts at $143 for a lightweight Twin/Twin XL and goes up to $539 in the ultra-warm, King/Cali King size.

PRODUCT RANGE AND FABRIC

Their selection includes a wide array of products, from loungewear and decor to joggers, candles, silk scrunchies and detergent from Laundress (a PureWow100 pick). Everything Brooklinen carries is Oeko-Tex certified, so you can be assured it’s free of harsh chemicals. Their sheets are made from sateen (which is purported to trap less bacteria, helping you maintain clearer skin) or percale (breathable, lightweight cotton) linen fabrics.

Shipping and Returns

Brooklinen offers free shipping on all U.S orders and a one-year return policy for most items. The brand also covers the cost of return postage in the U.S.

1. All-season Down Comforter

Encased in a 400-thread-count, 100-percent cotton sateen shell, this down comforter has gotten rave reviews across the board. It comes in three weights: lightweight, all-season and ultra-warm. The weight is distinguished by the comforters ‘fill power,’ or ‘loft,’ which refers to the volume of feathers, level of warmth and fluffiness in the down filling. The higher the fill-power, the fluffier (and heavier) the comforter. While the lightweight is packed with European goose and duck down feathers at a 650 fill power, the All-Season has a fill-power of 700 and is packed with Canadian duck down feathers (for medium fluff). The Ultra-Warm is by far the fluffiest with a 750 fill power of Canadian goose-down feathers.

Our Take: When I was on the hunt for the best down comforter, I wanted something super-fluffy for that just-out-of-a catalog bedding look, but lightweight enough that I wouldn’t feel suffocated in my sleep. This comforter hit both categories with flying colors. Not only did it give my bed that cozy, sink-into-me aesthetic, but I was cool and comfortable sleeping under this one all night long.

Pros:

  • Cooling and comfortable
  • Fluffy but still lightweight
  • Well-constructed
  • Ultra-Plush

Cons:

  • May experience some shedding when unboxed
  • Expensive

2. Percale Classic Core Sheet Set

The set is made from 270-thread-count organic cotton and comes with one flat sheet, one fitted sheet and two pillowcases.

Our Take: Percale sheets can be tricky; they’re perfect for giving your bed that trendy, messy-bed vibe, but they can often feel scratchy or stiff to the touch. However, I was blown away by just how soft this set was. They somehow had the super-plush feel of a heathered cotton sheet, but the crinkly percale look I wanted. One caveat: Just be sure to take your makeup off before you go to sleep because apparently, foundation, mascara and eyeshadow will stain these pillowcases for good.

Pros:

  • Pill-resistant
  • Lightweight
  • Cooling
  • Soft and Comfortable

Cons:

  • Difficult to remove stains

3. Sateen Luxe Core Sheet Set

Brooklinen’s best-selling sateen sheets are designed with 480-thread-count, long-staple cotton for a ‘buttery smooth finish,’ according to the manufacturer. The set includes one flat sheet, one fitted sheet and two pillowcases and features a slightly luminous finish for a truly luxurious feel. However, as we mentioned above, silk and sateen materials are supposed to be great for your hair and skin, but there were several mixed reviews about this set’s breathability.

Our Take: While I loved climbing into bed and feeling the silky-smooth finish of this set, I was really disappointed with the effect these pillowcases had on my skin. I’m prone to the occasional T-zone breakout, but I don’t have particularly bad skin, and these sheets caused a massive breakout on the sides of my face. If you have sensitive skin, I would definitely recommend going with a percale or linen option, which has a more breathable construction.

Pros:

  • Soft and comfortable
  • Good for cold sleepers
  • Multiple color and pattern options
  • Holds up in the wash

Cons:

  • Denser
  • Less breathable
  • Not good for sensitive skin
